What's in the CSV

Each transaction becomes one row with its date, description, memo, amount, transaction type, check number and the bank's transaction ID. Choose one amount column with negatives for money out, or separate debit and credit columns if that's what your spreadsheet or software expects.

Why convert a QBO file to CSV?

QBO files are made for QuickBooks to read, not people, so double-clicking one usually just opens QuickBooks or a wall of code. Converting to CSV lets you check transactions before importing them, send them to your accountant, build a report, or bring them into an app that only accepts CSV.

Questions

What is a QBO file?

A QBO file, also called a Web Connect file, is the format banks use to send transactions to QuickBooks. It's a version of the OFX banking format with an extra Intuit bank ID.

Can I open a QBO file in Excel?

Not directly. Excel can't read QBO files. Convert it to CSV here, or use the QBO to Excel converter to get a formatted workbook.

Does it work with OFX and QFX files?

Yes. QBO, OFX and QFX files share the same structure, so all three convert to CSV the same way.

What if my file has several accounts?

Some banks put checking and savings in one file. The converter lets you choose which account to convert.

Is my data safe?

Your file is read and converted inside your own browser. It is never uploaded to a server, so nobody else can see your transactions.
